I've spent 10+ years building and running production systems — distributed architecture, event-driven systems, Kafka at volume, cloud platforms, and lately a great deal of AI engineering. Startups in Mumbai, scale-ups in Sweden.

I've led teams of 8, run monolith-to-microservices migrations twice, and scaled a platform across 7 countries in 3 months. Some of it went well. Some of it I'd do differently, and those are usually the more useful stories.

What this is

Most engineering writing is about how Google, Netflix, or Uber do it. That's useful if you work there. Most of us don't.

I write for everyone else — the architects and engineers working with a legacy estate, a small team, and a real budget. What actually holds up at 3am. What the trade-off costs. What broke, and why.
